PHORUS PR5 RECEIVER WITH DTS PLAY-FI™ NAMED AS CES 2014 INNOVATIONS DESIGN
AND ENGINEERING AWARD HONOREE
In addition to multi-room and multi-zone streaming from any device running the Play-Fi application, the Phorus PR5 Receiver with Play-Fi also supports Bluetooth® AptX®, and AAC streaming, as well as direct streaming from iTunes on OSX and Windows.
“We are extremely proud that the CEA has honored our Phorus PR5 receiver with the prestigious 2014 CES Innovation Award,” said Dannie Lau, general manager of Phorus. “This is a huge validation of the product and its simple, one button approach to transforming any home entertainment system, boom box or speaker dock into a feature rich and great sounding wireless whole-home audio system.”
The Phorus PR5 Receiver with Play-Fi (priced at $179) will be on display at the Innovations Showcase, located at The Venetian during the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show, which runs from January 7-10, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The DTS Play-Fi ecosystem will be on display at the DTS Booth at CES, located in the Central Hall, Booth 9839. The first generation Phorus PR1 Receiver is currently available from the Phorus Store, on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca, at Nebraska Furniture Mart, and RadioShack locations nationwide.
The Innovations Design and Engineering Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media, to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products, across 29 product categories. Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering honoree products are featured on CESweb.org/Innovations, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, designer, description, photo and URL.
